The Problem
Existing personal finance tools are either too basic (spreadsheets) or too complex (enterprise PFM platforms). There was no single app that combined portfolio tracking, budget management, and AI-driven financial insights in a clean, actionable interface.
The Approach
Built the entire application from scratch using a modern full-stack architecture. Designed user journeys for three core flows: expense tracking, investment portfolio management, and financial goal setting. Integrated AI to generate personalised weekly financial summaries and anomaly alerts.
Architecture / System Design
Next.js frontend with a serverless API layer. Used Plaid-style data ingestion patterns to simulate account aggregation. AI insights generated via LLM prompt chains that contextualise spending patterns against user-defined financial goals. Deployed on Vercel with edge caching for dashboard performance.
Outcomes
Fully deployed and live. Built, tested, and shipped end-to-end as a solo vibe-coding project. Demonstrated end-to-end product and technical execution.
